ABOUT
Kimoi Guest House
Kimoi Guest House is more than just a place to stay it’s a story, a legacy, and a heartfelt tribute. Named in honor of my late grandmother, Kimoi, this space carries the spirit of a woman whose strength, wisdom, and unconditional love shaped not only my life, but the lives of my siblings in profound and lasting ways. She raised us with quiet determination, instilling in us the belief that no dream was too big and no barrier too strong. Though she never had the opportunity to attend school herself, she deeply understood the power of education and encouraged us especially as girls to pursue our ambitions fearlessly and never settle for less than we deserved.
Growing up during colonial times, when opportunities for Africans particularly women were scarce, she defied every limitation placed before her. With vision and resilience, she acquired land at a time when it was almost unheard of for women to do so, and worked tirelessly to build a life for her family. Kimoi Guest House stands today as a reflection of those same values: courage, perseverance, independence, and care for community. Nestled in the heart of Iten, Kenya, our guest house is a space where her story lives on welcoming every guest with warmth, purpose, and a sense of belonging.

About Kimoi
Kimoi Guesthouse is named in honor of a remarkable woman our grandmother whose strength, resilience, and belief in education shaped generations.
Despite growing up during colonial times without access to formal education, she understood its value deeply. She encouraged us to pursue knowledge, believe in ourselves, and build independent lives.
At a time when women rarely owned land, she broke barriers working tirelessly to provide for her family. Kimoi Guest House stands as a tribute to her legacy:
Strength.
Perseverance. Self-belief. Community.
